Crysis is mostly known for its superb graphics which always set a new standard of details on your pc and console. Crysis 1 and Warhead (expansion) were the ones pioneering this. The game set a new level of detail on the pc which was by far unreached, the game was made on the engine CryENGINE 2. The new Crysis , Crysis 2 used the CryENGINE 3. Where the first game and expansion were only for PC, the second Crysis also played at consoles but when the game got released many people on pc were not happy, it was a great game, amazing graphics and good for that time but actually they weren’t that much better. For the consoles, many developers were saying that it reached the limits.
What about the graphics in Crysis 3?!
Why we can’t expect much?
The console reached its limits. On PC, it will probably be worse graphics since it will get ported over from Xbox 360 and they will make it with the same engine again.
Why and how it can get better?
Crytek showed us before that they can break limits and set standard. So you can say “yeah, the limits been broken and the standard it unbeatable” but the developers wanted to prove that you are wrong and sent us in-game footage of the game in the trailer and to be honest it looks quite good. Don’t you forget, the game is still 1 year from release, it can still become much better.
Personal point of view
I think the graphics will be quite good especially with New York, but I think it won’t be a huge difference.
My guess is that we will experience the same graphics as Crysis 2, awesome detailed graphics on XBOX360 and PS3 but slightly worse on PC since it’s converted.
Maybe I sound bit negative but its quite good actually and im sure overall game will be a great experience for everyone whatever platform you are playing on!
